May Hayder, DDS & Bessma Hayder, DDS

Board-Certified Specialists in Pediatric Dentistry

General anesthesia may be helpful for children who need extensive dental treatment, and who may be too young or too anxious to cooperate for treatment otherwise.  An anesthesiologist can give your child medications to help them safely fall asleep, while Dr. Hayder completes the dental treatment they need.  The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry indicates that general anesthesia can be used safely and effectively when administered by an appropriately trained individual in an appropriately equipped facility.  Dr. Hayder strictly adheres to guidelines established by the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry in recommending general anesthesia to children who may benefit from it.  She recommends this option if she feels no other alternative to complete treatment would be equally effective.  Dr. Hayder works closely with a board-certified anesthesiologist to ensure treatment is completed safely.

All three of my girls (ages 14, 8, and 5) go to Dr. Hayder. She's calm, attentive, patient and understanding.

Both Bessma and May are incredibly patient and kind and don't make you feel like you're in the principal's office if there are dental issues that need to be addressed. They are respectful and INCREDIBLE with kids. My 5 year old and 2 year old actally manage to sit stll and are very responsive to their instructions, as they definitly know how to get kids involved in the process and strive to minimize anything that might be "scary" to a child.
